Firstly, Natanya, a North-West London native, is making waves with her distinctive, experimental sound, an innovative blend of Neo-Soul and Jazz. Her musical journey began at a tender age, exploring her father’s Motown records before transitioning to producing her own tracks at just 15.
Natanya’s rich voice, reminiscent of icons like Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Amy Winehouse, blends seamlessly with her Jazz piano skills. Following the release of her first single, ‘Sunset Melody,’ in 2019, and her recent track ‘Foolish,’ Natanya promises an exciting future, with more music just around the corner.
Next up is Lizzie Berchie, the Neo-Soul sweetheart from Newham, East London. Originally from Ghana, Berchie’s sound fuses the best of Jazz with Neo-Soul and R&B, drawing inspiration from the likes of Jazmine Sullivan and Lauryn Hill. She will be gracing the stage in London at the Jazz Cafe on Thursday, 8 June, and in Brixton at Hootananny on Tuesday, 25 July. Known for her electrifying performances, Berchie is an act not to be missed.
Adding to the diverse range of talent is Somandina, a young artist creating music that reflects the complex realities of modern womanhood. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter’s music is a genre-bending journey, reflecting her global experiences and unique perspective. Despite the diversity in her work, the constant is her powerful voice, a sonic thread that ties her music together.
Rounding off this quartet of exciting artists is FromJerome, an emerging talent whose fresh sound and dynamic performances are creating a buzz. FromJerome has just updated his Soundcloud with his latest track, ‘Best Kept Secret.’ Fans in London can catch him at The Lower Third on May 18, a showcase of rising talent presented by Live Nation.
