Michael Malarkey, a man of rich heritage and diverse talents, is set to grace the stage of The Lower Third on Sunday, June 11th. Born in Beirut to an Irish-American father and an English mother of Italian/Arab descent, Malarkey’s unique blend of cultural influences perfectly complements his versatile abilities.

Malarkey spent his formative years in Yellow Springs, Ohio, before moving to London in 2006 to study at the esteemed London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA). After training, he quickly found success in the theatre, with lead roles in Tennessee Williams’ “Spring Storm” and Eugene O’Neill’s “Beyond the Horizon.” Both shows were a hit at the Royal & Derngate, Northampton, leading to a sold-out run at the National Theatre, London.

His star continued to rise, with standout performances as Jay Gatsby in “The Great Gatsby,” and a role that saw him step into the blue suede shoes of Elvis Presley in the Original London Company of “Million Dollar Quartet.” In addition to theatre, Malarkey has enjoyed a prolific screen career, with roles in the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” Sky’s “Mr. Sloane,” RTÉ’s “RAW,” Warner Brothers’ “The Selection,” and most recently as Captain Michael Quinn in History’s “Project Blue Book.”

However, Malarkey isn’t just an actor; he’s also a talented singer-songwriter. After releasing his debut LP “Mongrels” and several EPs independently, he’s found a comfortable rhythm between acting and his music career. His upcoming London gig comes off the back of a successful run of UK dates with Nashville’s Lera Lynn and a West coast US tour with his band, Burial Clouds.

Malarkey promises an intimate solo performance featuring songs from across his back catalogue. There are whispers of some new tunes too. This is a night that promises to resonate with the audience, echoing Malarkey’s multi-faceted talent.

This is a 16+ event, and tickets can be purchased at here. Expect to pay £22.44 for a ticket, but rest assured, there will be no surprises later.
