Sam Battle, known for his imaginative use of vintage technology, mesmerizes fans with his musical inventions.

Sam, a Kent-based musician, inventor, and producer, has gained attention for his unique and eccentric creations, which blend vintage technology with modern music. Under the alias LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, Battle has accumulated over 17 million views across various platforms, including YouTube.

Battle’s interest in analogue synthesizers was sparked by Ray Wilson, a “DIY synth guru” and author of Analogue Synthesizers. Since then, Sam has built a variety of inventive musical devices, such as an organ made from Furbies and bikes with synthesizers and drum machines built into them.

Previously a member of the popular indie band ZIBRA (2013-2016), Battle has co-written and produced songs for artists like Barns Courtney and Charlie Fink. Some of these songs have been featured on TV and film, such as the trailer for A Street Cat Named Bob and as the theme tune for Netflix Original’s Safe.

In addition to his inventive musical creations, Battle has collaborated with Red Bull on their YouTube channel, amassing over 14 million views. Some of his projects with Red Bull include crafting a synthesizer out of a Red Bull can.

Battle’s journey started in 2013 when he began posting videos on YouTube as an outlet for ZIBRA and his own creations. After ZIBRA disbanded in 2016, Battle pursued his inventive career, gaining notoriety for his lightsaber theremin, Flamethrower Organ, and the infamous Furby Organ, which has garnered over 4.7 million views.

Currently, Sam Battle directs This Museum is Not Obsolete, a museum in Ramsgate, Kent, that showcases vintage analogue devices often repurposed for humorous uses.

Fans can catch him live at The Lower Third on April 13th and 14th, performing alongside Clementine Blue and BABii.
