On Denmark Street this Sunday, the heart of London’s music scene, the anticipation will be palpable. The Lower Third is about to be graced by the presence of a rising star, Venna, a saxophonist and producer who has been quietly shaping the sound of afrobeats, jazz, and rap for years.

Venna’s recent collaboration with Knucks on the Top Three album ‘Alpha Place’ has thrust him into the limelight, but this is no overnight success story. Venna has been honing his craft, laying down stirring sax sounds for Grammy-winning albums like Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ and featuring on tracks with the likes of Wizkid and Beyonce.

Now, Venna is stepping into his own spotlight. His music, a blend of sax-heavy jazz and laid-back UK hip-hop and drill, creates ambient, far-reaching soundscapes that transcend the concrete streets of London. His 2021 EP, ‘Venology’, is a testament to his talent and his commitment to his community, featuring collaborations with JVCK JAMES, emil, and JADA.

Despite a busy touring schedule, Venna remains calm and focused. His music, he says, is not just for him. It’s a form of therapy, a way to escape and release from the pressures of the world. His music is a safe haven, a place where he and his listeners can find solace and healing.

Venna’s inspiration comes from the world around him. From the picturesque scenes of the US West Coast to the bustling streets of London, he gathers his thoughts and translates them into music. His ambition with ‘Venology’ was to touch as many people as possible, and the response has been overwhelming. People have found a spiritual kind of healing in his music, a testament to the power of his artistry.

Working with Burna Boy and P2J on ‘African Giant’ and ‘Twice As Tall’ was a cool experience, says Venna. He’s also been working with Knucks since he was 16, and the two have a strong creative connection. Venna executively produced Knucks’ new album, ‘Alpha Place’, a unique blend of UK drill and jazz that debuted at #3 in the UK Albums Chart.

Venna is a fan of nostalgia, and if he could go back in time, he’d love to experience the era of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker, or the Biggie/Diddy era in New York. But for now, he’s focused on the present and the future. He’s touring with Yussef Dayes, working on his next project, and continuing to make music that touches people’s hearts.

Venna’s upcoming gigs at The Lower Third on Denmark Street are not to be missed. Join the waitlist here and experience the magic of Venna’s music for yourself. The price you’ll pay? Just £17. No surprises later.
